Dublin & Newgrange
A few years ago my daughter Lenore was living in Dublin so I decided to drop in for a few days on the way back from a business trip. At that time the Celtic Tiger was in full roar. Dublin was beautiful in the early spring and looked nicer than on any previous or subsequent visit. It was a magical few days topped off by a visit to Newgrange which has to be one of the most under appreciated ancient sites anywhere. It is the very first entry in 1001 Buildings You Must See Before You Die, older than the Pyramids and thousands of years older than Stonehenge, yet demonstrating as much knowledge of astronomy and geometry as either.
