    Corning Museum of Glass

The Corning Museum of Glass is a visual feast for the eyes and should be on everybody’s radar who is within an easy day’s drive and that includes all of Southern Ontario and the Montreal area. Here are just a few of the amazing things I saw there in September, 2015.

    Oregon

If there is a nicer piece of real estate than northwest Oregon I doubt that I’ve seen it. The fabulous combination of mountains, ocean, waterfalls, vineyards and of course the laid back atmosphere of Portland make for a bucket list destination for anyone who loves the great outdoors and real good coffee. In late fall 2012 I took an assignment from Saltscapes to explore the Moosehead Lake area of Maine. Here are some additional photos.

Boca Grande & the Gasparilla Inn

In January 2013 we spent a week on Sanibel and then ventured north to the sleepy island of Boca Grande and spent a night at one of America’s most storied hostelries, the Gasparilla Inn. I wrote a story for Travel World International which is on page 58. These are the photos I was not able to include.

    Caladesi Island

I am an island nut and like nothing better than discovering a relatively unknown one where the beaches are covered in real birds and not the wintering snowbirds from the north. Such a place is Caladesi Island from where you can see the towers of Clearwater. Read more here.
