Blue Cruise, Lycian Coast, Turkey

Turkey is one of my very favourite countries. I find the people very hospitable and the food great. While I am no fan of large boat cruising, a Blue Cruise is something completely different; small wooden vessels called gulets usually host no more than twenty guests with three of four crew members. We took our Blue Cruise as part of a two-week visit to Turkey with the British company Explore and had a ball. It was totally relaxing and less than half the price many other companies were offering for essentially the same experience. If you enjoy meeting new friends, snorkeling or fishing in crystal clear waters, visiting ancient Lycian, Roman and Christian sites as well as fabulous fresh home cooking, then a Blue Cruise is for you. Just watch out for the bar bill!
