Maui - The Maritime Explorer

Maui

When Hawaiian tourism began it was all about Waikiki and Oahu and then Maui got discovered. Now over two million people a year visit this great alternative to crowded Honolulu which gets over twice as many visitors. Our week was spent in Kaanapali Beach which has to be one of the nicest beaches in the world with the competing views of Lanai and Molokai. Assuming you don’t want to just walk to the beach every day here are some things you shouldn’t miss – snorkeling at Molokini, golfing the incomparable Plantation Course at Kapalua,  watching the sun set while dining at the Hula Grill, driving up and hiking on  Mount Haleakala and of course watching the breaching humpback whales from just about anywhere. Maui has to be on every traveller’s bucket list, but I doubt very much if you will cross it off after just one visit.
